Brilliant songwriters and twin brothers Bobby and Billy Alessi wear their hair long and their hearts on their sleeve.


“She’s Like The Wind” Patrick Swayze

What a man. RIP Patrick Swayze. The lyrics in this track are excellent.



“I’m Sorry” Brenda Lee

I love the note drop every time into her second line i.e. “I’m sorry (DROP), so sorry”. Makes that apology even more meaningful.


“This Time Tomorrow” The Kinks


“Sad Songs” Alessi Brothers


“Roads” Portishead

Wowser. What a track. Every element is perfect. The vocals are absolutely nailed, and talk about stage charisma, Beth Gibbons. I can listen to the Dummy record over and over again. And I do.


“Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometimes” The Korgis


“Naive Melody (This Must Be The Place)” Talking Heads

This live version is fantastic and the song in general always seems to heighten and richen my emotions. I get overcome with this weird combination of happy/sad/nostalgic/hopeful/melancholy. You too, right? Right.

Someone uploaded these lyrics and we love the interpretation. For example:

I hope they never get corrected and remain like this forever in internet history.

On arrival at the airport we accidentally came out of the wrong exit and ended up in France when we were supposed to be in Switzerland. Apparently international musicians/djs do it all the time and Sandro from Kaserne found us.

We were very lucky to have the day free to roam the beautiful streets and enjoy local treats like delicious pretzels before headlining the first night of Viva con Agua’s open air festival. Viva con Agua is a wonderful organisation that aims to provide access to clean drinking water worldwide.

We had a marvellous time, met a lot of lovely people. Thanks Basel, you were a definite highlight for us.

Between Paris and Berlin there was about 1500 miles of road, not a lot of sleep and a really lovely sunrise. The perfect sunrise track, No Cars Go by the Arcade Fire.

 


Andrew, our wonderful driver. He’s a drummer too, so it was lol-tastic to watch him and Rudy air drum along to the radio.
