Whirlwind mini-tour, but what can we say, we love you Germany! What began with an epic drive from London to Hamburg that took over twice as long due to our malfunctioning sat nav, ended as one of the best times we’ve had. Thanks to our very hospitable hosts, to the sound and lighting guys, and of course to everyone who came to the shows and cleared us of our merch so we didn’t have to lug it back home.

BY LINDA

Well, it’s a fairly self-explanatory title for this mix of songs so I hope you listen and enjoy. These songs should hit a real emotive spot right in your heart!

“Seabird” Alessi Brothers

Brilliant songwriters and twin brothers Bobby and Billy Alessi wear their hair long and their hearts on their sleeve.

“She’s Like The Wind” Patrick Swayze

What a man. RIP Patrick Swayze. The lyrics in this track are excellent.

Miska discovered these a while ago and we had a laugh at the time, but I’d forgotten about them until now so I thought that on the eve of the Australian release it was worth a share.

Someone uploaded these lyrics and we love the interpretation. For example:

Very Vampyr (entire song)
“We Suck Blood”

End It Tonight (chorus)
“And any way to run, any way to run
There’s nothing in the way to go tonight”

I hope they never get corrected and remain like this forever in internet history.

For the real lyrics, or rather our interpretation, see inside the album booklet.

On Friday we boarded a jet plane for Basel. On arrival at the airport we accidentally came out of the wrong exit and ended up in France when we were supposed to be in Switzerland. Apparently international musicians/djs do it all the time and Sandro from Kaserne found us.

We were very lucky to have the day free to roam the beautiful streets and enjoy local treats like delicious pretzels before headlining the first night of Viva con Agua’s open air festival. Viva con Agua is a wonderful organisation that aims to provide access to clean drinking water worldwide.

We had a marvellous time, met a lot of lovely people. Thanks Basel, you were a definite highlight for us.
